perspective, the International Human Rights Film Festival Nuremberg, Germany is calling for submissions by international filmmakers.

Deadline for submissions: April 10, 2009.

perspektive is Germany’s oldest and biggest human rights film festival. It is the leading forum for outstanding feature films, documentaries and animated productions, which have human rights as their main focus. perspektive features an international competition, which presents aesthetically exceptional human rights films, an international forum, an extensive supporting programme, exhibitions and international guests. perspektive 6 will take place from Sep 30 to Oct 11, 2009.

perspektive Film Awards

  • International Nuremberg Human Rights Film Award for the best film to combine quality of cinematic form with humane thought and social commitment (2,500.– €)
  • Audience Award (1,000.- €)
  • Open Eyes Youth Jury Award (1,000.- €)

The festival's subject is human rights. No further preliminaries on the film's content, style or techniques apply. Films and videos may be submitted either for the international competition or the non-competition screenings by the filmmakers themselves, by producers, distributors or their legal representatives.
