Call for Entries

 

The Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival (NIHRFF), Germany, invites filmmakers and producers from all over the world to submit their latest productions to its 7th edition, to take place between September 28 and October 5, 2011. Submitted films must have been completed after January 1, 2009.

Deadline for submissions: April 1, 2011.

NIHRFF is Germany’s oldest and biggest human rights film festival. It is the leading forum for outstanding feature films, creative documentaries and animated productions, which have human rights as their main focus. NIHRFF features an international competition, which presents artistically exceptional human rights films, an international forum, an extensive supporting programme, exhibitions and international guests. NIHRFF 7 will take place from Sep 28 to Oct 5, 2011.

NIHRFF Film Awards:

  • International Nuremberg Human Rights Film Award for the best film (50 min+ in length) to combine exceptional  cinematic form with humane thought and social commitment (2,500.– €)
  • Audience Award (1,000.- €) for the most popular film in the programme (50 min+)
  • Open Eyes Youth Jury Award (1,000.- €) for the film (all film lengths) best suitable for human rights education in schools

The festival's subject is human rights. No further preliminaries on the film's content, style or techniques apply. Films and videos may be submitted either for the international competition or the non-competition screenings by the filmmakers themselves, by producers, distributors or their legal representatives.
